Studio MJ is the personal art space of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri — an artist, educator, sculptor, painter, and conservation art researcher whose work moves seamlessly between creation, scholarship, and curation.
Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri
A pioneering visual artist, educationist, and conservation researcher with over 40 years of dedicated practice in arts education and cultural stewardship. He holds a PhD in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London and an MA from Chelsea College of Art and Design.
His artistic works are permanently displayed in prestigious international collections including King’s College Hospital London, Prime Minister’s Secretariat Islamabad, Governor’s House Karachi, and the High Commission of Pakistan in London.

National College of Arts
Founded as the Mayo School of Art in 1875, the National College of Arts is Pakistan’s first autonomous degree-awarding college (status granted in 1985) and the pioneering institution of art and design education in South Asia.
Under Prof. Dr. Jafri’s leadership since 2021, NCA has been elevated to a federally chartered university with expanded campuses in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Gilgit Baltistan. The institution now comprises seven faculties serving 2,500+ students nationally and internationally.
