About Studio MJ
Studio MJ is the personal art space of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri — an artist, educator, sculptor, painter, and conservation art researcher whose practice moves naturally between creation, scholarship, and curation.
This platform reflects a lifetime devoted to the visual arts: original works created over decades, carefully collected artworks acquired through thoughtful judgement, and a wider curatorial perspective shaped by teaching, research, and cultural leadership.
Studio MJ is designed not simply as a place to view art, but as a place to understand it — where each work carries context, authorship, and lasting significance.
Here, every painting becomes part of a larger conversation about memory, identity, material, and beauty.

New Readings
Studio MJ is not a conventional gallery or marketplace. It is a refined, private environment where each artwork is selected, presented, and preserved with intention.
Foundation
Studio MJ began as a personal archive shaped by decades of artistic practice, scholarship, and thoughtful collecting. Each work entered the collection through discernment, not convenience—built slowly with a respect for originality and artistic permanence.
Expansion
Over time, the collection grew beyond the studio itself, bringing together works by selected artists whose visual language and artistic conviction aligned with the wider philosophy of Studio MJ. This expansion created a richer dialogue between personal practice and contemporary expression.
Continuity
Today, Studio MJ exists as both a private collection and an active curatorial platform—where artworks continue to be presented, appreciated, and placed with care. It remains a space where art is not only preserved, but continuously reinterpreted through exhibitions and conversations.Curatorial Voice
Studio MJ is not a conventional gallery or marketplace. It is a refined, private environment where each artwork is selected, presented, and preserved with intention. Together, they form a collection that feels personal, timeless, and internationally resonant.
Some works are original paintings by Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri himself. Others are carefully acquired pieces by artists whose work reflects artistic excellence, craftsmanship, and cultural relevance.
