Shamsuddin Tanwari VIII

Shamsuddin Tanwari is a Lahore-based miniature artist dedicated to the revival of Mughal miniature painting. Trained at the National College of Arts Lahore (BFA, 2010, graduating with honors), he was selected for an exchange program at the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris in 2009. His practice uses graphite powder, graphite pencils, and white paint on Arches paper, drawing from pictorial references of original Mughal works to reconstruct their lost grandeur. He has participated in numerous group shows locally and internationally, with his most recent display at the Pakistan Art Forum, Lahore in August 2023.
